A quick sketch of an old robot done at one of those bars where they let you draw on the tables. I got tired of crayons.

The Illustration Friday topic this week is “Monster”. I had big plans to do an Ed “Big Daddy” Roth inspired monster driving a robot hot rod, but it’s been a busy week. So instead, I give you a robot that wishes it were a werewolf, a quick brush pen drawing I did while at Kinko’s yesterday. I’ve never been very adept or confident with ink and brush, but I’m determined to improve so I bought a Pentel Pocket Brush in hopes that I might get more practice because I can use it anywhere. Time will tell how that all works out.

Most of my free time over the last week or so has been spent doing a full overhaul of my portfolio site, ROBOPOCALYPSE. Today’s post is a little sneak preview of the new header image for the site.

Stefan Grambart, aka Ripsey, was nice enough to provide today’s robot. As always, I urge you all to click on over to http://www.ripsey.com to check out more of Stefan’s work.

Hooray for merchandise, huh? Now for sale in the R-A-D Store, 4″ by 3″ “Have You Hugged A Robot Today?” stickers. $2 gets you three stickers and probably a button or two.

That’s right, it’s the third painting in the triptych for my “Evolution of Robot” series. Acrylic, photocopy transfer, and tea stains on a 4″ by 4″ piece of hardboard.

Today’s bot is the second painting in a triptych for my “Evolution of Robot” series. Acrylic, photocopy transfer, and tea stains on a 4″ by 4″ piece of hardboard. Can you guess what I’ll post tomorrow?

This is the first painting in a triptych which will be the second piece for my “Evolution of Robot” series. Acrylic, photocopy transfer, and tea stains on a 4″ by 4″ piece of hardboard.

A few days ago, I went to a live model drawing session with some friends. After a while, I got tired of drawing our model over and over, so I did this quick sketch of him as a robot.

I just got these fantastic cards in the mail a few days ago. They were my score as part of an art trade I did with Rob James, so I thought I’d share them with the world. Rob’s site is http://www.robotjam.com. Go check it out right now. Great robots, plus a lot more!
