May 1st, 2006 :: “Simple Bot”

Just a simple robot for something. You might see this again, might not.

Thanks to everyone who voted in the Robot-A-Day t-shirt poll. The polls are now closed, but keep an eye out for more definitive t-shirt info later this week. I think I might just periodically do a robo-poll; nothing right now, but look for more in the future.

April 28th, 2006 :: “Permutations of Robots”

Ooh, Flash. Today’s robot (or robots) comes from illustrator, Matthew Schuster. I love this stuff. Head over to http://www.mpsindustries.com to see more of Matthew’s work. Seriously, right now, go.

But wait…

If you haven’t already, go vote in the Robot-A-Day t-shirt poll. Voting ends at 12:00 am (PST) on Monday. Click the “VOTE!” below to see all the designs.

April 27th, 2006 :: “Yay, Socks!”

I think it’ll just be sketches for the rest of the week. I need to loosen up a bit, get wilder with my poses and expressions, and sketching is a great way to do that. Socks!

If you haven’t done so yet, go and vote in the R-A-D Poll for your favorite t-shirt design! The polls close at 12:00 am (PST) on Monday. Click the “VOTE!” below to meet the candidates.

April 26th, 2006 :: “IF - Robot”

OK, so I knew it had to happen eventually: “Robot” is the topic of the week over at Illustration Friday. Usually, I rely on IF to generate one creative idea per week, and it had to go and give me “robot” this week. I really didn’t know what to do. I was left scratching my head, much like this robot. It’s also been a very busy week, I’ve been on the hunt for a “real job,” so sorry if this is a little more half-assed than usual.

Also, don’t forget to vote in the first ever, Robot-A-Day t-shirt poll. Click the “VOTE!” below to see all the designs.

April 25th, 2006 :: “Ordinary Bicycle Robot”

Two of my favorite things are robots (of course) and bicycles. I’m suprised it’s taken me this long to combine the two.

Do you think this design would make a nice t-shirt? Do you think it would make an awful t-shirt but perhaps there’s another design that you might like? If you answered yes to either of these questions, you are just the type of person I want to vote in the first R-A-D Poll! I want to print some t-shirts in the near future, but I would like your opinion first. It’s OK if you have no intention of actually buying a t-shirt when they are printed, just vote for your favorite design. Click the “VOTE!” below to see all the designs and vote.

April 24th, 2006 :: “All Tied Up”

It only took me 139 days to finish what I started, but I did it! Two-color screen print in a limited edition of 20. Each print is hand-pulled on an 8″ by 10″ piece of Rives BFK printmaking paper. Now available for only $12 in the R-A-D Store or with the Paypal button below.

April 21st, 2006 :: “Cry Bot”

Ben Walker is the guest artist on Robot-A-Day today. I know you’ll want to see more of Ben’s work, so go to http://www.benwalkerart.com and you will not be disappointed.

April 20th, 2006 :: “Flower Eater”

Acrylic on a 7″ by 9″ counter top sample. Painted to liven up the walls of some lovely ladies I know.

April 19th, 2006 :: “IF - Spotted”

“Spotted” is the topic of the week over at Illustration Friday this week. Poor, poor sick robot.

April 18th, 2006 :: “Robot On Empty”

This is probably the biggest robot we’ve had on Robot-A-Day so far. 4′ by 8′ on plywood. The artist is Sean Tubridy. Sean’s Flickr account is full of illustration, street art, and photos. Go there now.

Also…

Some of you long-time R-A-D fans may remember the robot below. The fourth post ever on Robot-A-Day was this sticker, and a plea from me to figure out who the artist is. Turns out that it’s Sean. Isn’t the internet is a magical place?
