April 17th, 2006 :: “Coal Bot Screen Print”

I’ve been getting a lot of comments regarding my “Coal Bot” painting I did a few months back. People really seem to like it but no one seems to be able to comfortably meet the price tag. That’s OK though, I couldn’t either if I didn’t paint it myself. If you are unsure of what painting I’m talking about, click here.

Here’s your chance to own the smaller, cheaper version of the painting you love so much. Three-color screen print in a limited edition of nine. Each print is hand-pulled on a 5.5″ by 8″ piece of acid-free watercolor paper. Now available for only $12 in the R-A-D Store or with the Paypal button below.

April 14th, 2006 :: “Bear Bot”

Joyce Buzzard SENT me this wonderful, framed Bear Bot the other day. If anyone else wants to send me anything, email me and I’ll give you my address. To see more of Joyce’s bears, head over to http://chief-ten-bears.blogspot.com. Thanks.

(Sorry for the horrible photo.)

April 10th, 2006 :: “Coal Bot Beta”

I’ve been messing around with screenprinting lately. Some might say I’m on the verge of obsession, actually. Does the image look familiar? For a reminder, click here.

This print is a result of a lot of mistakes, over-exposures, and hand-registered CMYK process inks. When all was said and done, I realized that though fraught with imperfections, the final print has some definite character, so I editioned it. And it’s cheap too!

(For those of you searching for a slightly larger, more “properly” printed version of Coal Bot, check back next week.)

4-color screenprint, limited edition of 7.
Image size: 3″ by 4.25″

$7

April 7th, 2006 :: “All Tied Up Again”

I’m ending the week with yet another 2″ by 2″ painting for Peter Smuts’s Human Pixel Project. Acrylic and some cut and paste photocopy transfer work gives a new look to an old illustration.

April 6th, 2006 :: “IF - Spring”

The Illustration Friday topic this week is “Spring”. I haven’t been feeling so hot for the last few days, so I don’t really feel like adding any shading or messing around with this anymore. Here it is, in all of it’s unfinished glory.

April 5th, 2006 :: “Coal Bot Stealth”

Yes, it’s another 2″ by 2″ painting for Peter Smuts’s Human Pixel Project. A little bit of acrylic and photocopy transfer to give a new look to “Coal Bot.”

April 4th, 2006 :: “ROBOT”

Yet another 2″ by 2″ painting for Peter Smuts’s Human Pixel Project. I like the look of this quite a bit. I may have to explore this style more. Anyways, go check out the site and then sign up if it sounds like your kind of fun.

I have finished my 10 “pixels” for the Human Pixel Project. All of the robot pixels will eventually be shown here. The rest can only be seen by Robot-A-Day’s super-special MySpace and LiveJournal friends.
