September 15th, 2006 :: “Mittens!”

Today’s cute robot is from none other than Molly McCausland. Molly is a total sweetheart, and is a great friend to Robot-A-Day. You should all go and visit her website at http://www.hippojim.co.uk, or her art blog at http://mollinda.livejournal.com. Got it? Good.

And yes, I AM “the heart of the web robot community.” Thanks, Molls.

September 14th, 2006 :: “T-Rex Bot”

I guess I’m unofficially making this week, “Robots I’ve Drawn While I Should’ve Been Listening In Class” week.

September 13th, 2006 :: “Books!”

Yet another class-time doodle, this time from my English Composition class. As you might be able to tell, I finally broke down and bought myself a bunch of Copic markers today and I am already totally hooked. What this means for you, dear viewer, is that even on days where I don’t have time to do a fancy, finished robot, at least you’ll get to see some color probably. How does that sound?

The writing to the right of the robot is a reference to the fact that I did this in my sketchbook for my Beginning Illustration class. I told myself that I was going to keep the robots to a non-class sketchbook, but carrying two sketchbooks everywhere is a drag.

September 12th, 2006 :: “Art History Doodle”

September 11th, 2006 :: “Possibly No Robot”

Today’s robot will either be posted in the evening, or possibly not at all.

If you want to see why, you’ll have to check out Robot-A-Day on LiveJournal.

September 8th, 2006 :: “Teenage Mutant Robot Ninja Turtle”

Ray Frenden, long-time friend of Robot-A-Day, sent me this little robot sketch in a package yesterday, but that certainly wasn’t the best thing he sent.

How cool are these? Ray did a complete overhaul on everyone’s favorite martial artist/reptiles, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I’d recommend you head over to Ray’s site www.penguinx.org, email him, and tell him you’d like to buy a set. I’m really impressed with the print quality too. Thanks, Ray!

September 7th, 2006 :: “Sausages”

More class-time doodling.

September 6th, 2006 :: “They’re The Best Of Friends”

This is really funny to me for some reason. Mostly drawn during my English Composition class.

September 5th, 2006 :: “Clipboard”

I found this broken, painted clipboard in a free box this weekend. I’ll probably end up painting this eventually, but this is all I’ve got for now.

I decided to drop the prices on a lot of my prints and paintings today. (Yes, even THAT one.) Some of them have dropped quite a lot. I’m not sure how long the sale will last, but now is the time to buy. The big, big sale covers both the R-A-D Store, and ROBOPOCALYPSE, in case you might like something that doesn’t have a robot on it.

September 4th, 2006 :: “IF - Safe”

It feels good to be back doing Illustration Friday. I hadn’t contributed anything for weeks. A fairly literal translation of the theme, “safe,” but with robots, of course.

If you are coming here for the first time via Illustration Friday; welcome. I’ve got robots every weekday, so feel free to come back anytime. Also… T-SHIRTS!
