Here are two of the three illustrations that I did for the Portland Mercury’s special “Back to School” pullout section this week; featuring the ghost of Rodney Dangerfield, from the movie Back To School. Les McClaine worked up the cover, and the design for Ghostly Dangerfield, and I had to take it from there.
There are still a few more one-inch robots to post, but I’ll hold off today since I’m posting two things. It’s been a while since I’ve finished any “Business Casual” pages, so you may want to read from the beginning. “Business Casual” will debut in print format at Stumptown at the end of the month; only seven pages left.
This next piece I did for my first assignment at school this semester, and in math class none the less. This isn’t actually what we’ll be doing all semester in math, but it was good to make something fun to ease into the semester. We watched the movie Pi and had to make a small piece inspired by it in some way. Golden rectangles are where it’s at. No lies, I actually got a nosebleed about 30 minutes after I finished this, so you bet your ass there’s some real blood mixed in there..

It was a busy weekend. I almost finished inking the next page of “Business Casual” (only half a panel left) but I ended up doing a bunch of illustrations for the Mercury that I’ll show later this week, along with some homework and an RCC meeting at my house. I’m tired, but I still have work to do.
I’ve got some other cool news to share, but I think I’ll wait until things are a bit settled in before sharing too much.

School’s taking it out of me at the moment (sadly only two days in), but I have six of the last eight pages of “Business Casual” penciled and will hopefully get at least two of them inked today, in between some homework, on my day off. I’ll start posting them, along with the last few one inch ‘bots, next week.
