I’m in two different art shows in Portland this month, both of which open tonight. The first one being “Ten Cent Tales” at Sequential Art Gallery. It’s a group show celebrating the work of old pulp fiction books. I completely forgot to take a picture of my piece while I was working on it, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it to the opening, but if it doesn’t sell this month, I will post it here. It’s a sci-fi cover of my own design, with an astronaut fighting against giant fish creatures on Mars. Just use your imagination for now.
I’m also taking part in the annual “Holiday Art Sale” at Pacific Northwest College of Art. Every December, students are allowed to enter as many pieces of their own work as they wish into the open show. Everything gets collected and hung on the walls or set out on tables in the common area of the school and everything is for sale. The show will run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If you live in the Portland area, the Holiday Art Sale is a great opportunity to buy work from some up and coming artists for yourself, or as affordable holiday gifts, so check it out.
