BEARFIGHT: Oh, It’s On!
Over the last few years I’ve had many people ask me to put together books or comics for them, or just help them with their book package design. It’s made me realize that as much as I like making the content of the book, what I really really enjoy is simply making books, any books, so about six months ago, I quietly launched a little small press imprint, Banner Year Press, to release my last book, FADGE. The plan is to release books whenever I feel I can afford to, starting with my own work and small anthologies, and then once I’m done with school, pick things up a bit and start publishing solo books by others. But enough about that, it’s time for the first Banner Year Press anthology, BEARFIGHT!
BEARFIGHT is simply this: a bunch of artists (maybe you?) make an image of any sort of bear they wish, but that bear must be fighting something; anything that you think it would be funny, or have always wanted to see a bear take on. Some people’s will be funny or even cute, while other artists will do something brutal; I’m pretty much into it all, as long as it’s a bearfight.
The book will be released in a limited edition of 500 copies, will be perfect bound, and like all my books will wear a screeprinted (or maybe letterpressed) cover. Interior pages will be grayscale only, and length of book will be determined by number of entries, but if I get too many entries, I will most likely have to jury the selection.
