Serious, Guys, He’s Real!

I’ve been working on a painting for a recent show on and off for the last few days. Today, while waiting for various layers of paint to dry, I drew this stupid little doodle. Don’t have much else ready to show lately.

I’ve Finally Figured Out Who To Blame!

Just something fun for a thing.

Unintentionally Lincoln

Why the long face? This guy is acrylic paint and ink on a 4″ by 5″ piece of scrap wood. I have boxes full of small to medium sized pieces of scrap wood cluttering up my apartment, having collected it from various sources over the last few years. I’ve started sort of doodling on them with ink when I find the time and I’ve been really liking some of the results. This piece will actually be a part of something much larger I’m working on that I will explain once I am a bit further. Until then, also enjoy this other tiny piece, “Moon Shot;” acrylic, ink and Letraset on a roughly 4″ by 3″ piece of wood.

Push

I don’t think I’ve posted this little guy yet, I drew it way back in November, but didn’t add the color until a few weeks ago. He’s about 3″ square in real life.

Yaarrrgh!

(Probably larger than actual size)

I went on vacation last weekend, and as usually happens when I return from traveling, I have very little interest in posting anything, or really the internet in general, but I have been forgetting to post this very last of my one-inch robots that I started way back in September. He’s a pirate!

I am working on some cool things though, so hopefully by next week I’ll be feeling a little more inspired to scan/photograph them; see you then.

Cap’n Hook

My buddy, Matt Grigsby, is a fan of the Peter Pan, and is passing a sketchbook around school for his friends to fill, so I made him a drunken, swarthy, belligerent Captain Hook. I think he sort of looks like Al Pacino.

Handlebar-tron 5000

One more 1-incher after this classy gent.

Bzzzzt!

Remember these, guys? Things got so busy and crazy and post-filled in the weeks leading up to Stumptown that I nearly forgot that I had three more one-inch robots to post. Ta-daaaaa.

Woody Guthrie Illo

This is the final of the first assignment for my Intermediate Illustration class. It’s Woody Guthrie finding his inspiration for “This Land Is Your Land.” Ink linework, watercolor, and some digital manipulation.

Mr. Cool

(Probably larger than actual size)

It was a busy weekend. I almost finished inking the next page of “Business Casual” (only half a panel left) but I ended up doing a bunch of illustrations for the Mercury that I’ll show later this week, along with some homework and an RCC meeting at my house. I’m tired, but I still have work to do.

I’ve got some other cool news to share, but I think I’ll wait until things are a bit settled in before sharing too much.
