Today’s robot is a salute to some of Robot-A-Day’s awesome LiveJournal friends. I’ve been playing a game called the LiveJournal Dungeon Adventure, a text-based adventure game based on your (or other LJ users’) friends and interests. Bee Eye posted a drawing of all his spoils of the dungeon, so I was inspired to do the same.

After a valiant fight, I was able to fend off the evils of the dungeon with the help of my trusty Sword of Robots, the Armour of Jeff Manley, and the Dagger of Dorkboycomics. After barely escaping, I checked my loot bag to see that I had stolen away with not only the Amulet of Patchworkrobot, but also the much sought after Figurine of Elio!

Yesterday, Jamie Dee Galey asked people to draw a cat in this LiveJournal post. I couldn’t pass up drawing something this cute and/or disturbing. For those of you unfamiliar with Jamie’s work, check out http://www.iamjamie.com. Jamie is also one half of the genius-team behind Filth Hole.

Robot-A-Day T-Shirt Update!
I received a giant box of blank t-shirts yesterday. They will not be so blank by the end of this coming weekend. Yay!

Sorry about the later-than-usual post today, I was too tired from playing kickball last night. Rock!

Happy Memorial Day to everyone honoring those who died in service to their country, or to others celebrating the unofficial first day of summer. Today, I plan on cooking something hot and then drinking something(s) cold.

Extra points if you know and love the beer in the background.

The weekly theme for Illustration Friday is “Angels and Devils. I’m really happy with the robot’s expression in this one.

Six months, that is. It was six months ago today that I drew my first robot specifically for Robot-A-Day and posted it, and look at how far we’ve come together! I initially wanted all of my robots to have its number integrated into the illustration somehow. That stopped on November 5th, aka robot #2, so think of today’s robot as an homage to that initial failed idea.

The idea behind Robot-A-Day was just a creative way to keep myself drawing regularly. I only planned on doing it for one year. Now, at the half-way point, I’m not sure I will be able to stop on November 4th, 2006. The support from regular viewers, connections with other artists, and just plain ol’ fun I’ve had drawing robots for myself and all of you is too great to think about stopping.

Now quick, somebody buy something from the R-A-D Store so I can afford to go out and celebrate.
