February 16th, 2006 :: “Evolution of Robot”

This is most likely the BRIGHTEST painting I have ever done and probably ever will do. It’s acrylic and photocopy transfers on a 20″ by 20″ canvas. I’ve decided that I really like these three robots, so get used to them cause you’ll be seeing them again. (Yes, I do consider the pink amoeba a robot!) You already met Unit #001 last week. The pink guy is Proto Bot and the blue one is Big Bot. Welcome to the family!
(Sorry about the glare. Someday I’ll figure out how to take a good picture of a painting.)
Fun Fact: A lot of artists will tell you they put their blood, sweat, and tears into their work. I took that literally with this piece. The process for the photocopy transfers involves rubbing the photocopy paper away with your fingers. All that rubbing over 400 square inches of canvas led to me wearing a few fingers down to blood. I still can’t feel the tip of the middle finger on my right hand over a week later. I couldn’t get all of the blood out, so whomever buys this eventually should totally try to clone me.

An equation for you:
Bergtown + Robots = Shnazzy.
Think about it.
I like the brightness.
Did I win the robot thing? Cant wait for that third mother.
