I was going to wait until June 5th or 6th to give away the theme of this volume, but there’s no time like the present. Volume Two will from now on be referred to as The Life and Times of “Hobo” Otto Zeplin.
Apparently, very few of you saw or cared about the Baby Otto contest I announced on Tuesday. The prospect of ten free comics just doesn’t go as far as it used to I guess…
I was looking for historical shiz to incorporate. Turns out the Northern Pacific Railway opened in 1900 and ran to Portland. You could include that with this hobo theme. Other themes I’d like to see include: anything involving sasquatch, Oregon Trail (the computer game), the advent of electricity (which I think came to Oregon around 1900), vividly insane dreams born from eating like 5 sticks of butter or some other form of food poisoning, dismemberment (losing an arm or leg) or blindness or polio not necessarily the cause eventual cause of death, a gold rush.
