May 25th, 2006 :: “Shrinky Dinks!”

I was killing some time on Tuesday afternoon so I stopped into an art supply store downtown. They had sheets of Shrinky Dink style plastic, and of course I had to buy some. This is my first test piece and includes a one-inch button and my ginormous hands for size reference. It got a bit smudgy because I forgot that ink would take a really long time to dry on plastic.
I am of course completely hooked and am trying to think of all the possible uses: Robot-A-Day magnets, earrings, necklaces, keychains. The list goes on and on. If you have any good ideas, feel free to share.

Shrinky Dinks! Wow, I didn’t know they still made those. I want to go get some now. Anyway, I had an idea, you could make bookmarks, maybe?
those are great!!!!
What size circle did you use to make the button?
The button is just a normal 1-inch button. It’s just there for a size reference.
dude, you can save a couple bucks by using #6 plastic (like is often found on salad bars and for take out food, with the 6 in the recycle triangle). it works exactly the same.
