Postcard Art

A while back, I found an addressed and stamped postcard at a coffeeshop. It had written on it, “MAIL ME! But before you do, write or draw something about your life on the back.” I have been carrying it around in my sketchbook for almost a month, so I finally decided to illustrate my dirty little secret, I do really like going to the post office. Huge line? I couldn’t care. Someone in front of me sending three packages overseas without having filled any custom forms? That’s OK, I can wait. I generally come fully prepared and when I’m actually up at the counter I’m very efficient, but the rest of my time there is just a great time to relax and maybe do some people watching. I’m weird. Pentel Pocket Brush and silver Sharpie.

Excellent illo. This is such a cool idea. The leaving of the post card for someone else to pick up, I mean.
I don’t think I’ve known anyone who likes the post office that much before.
Thanks. I do like the post office that much, in fact, I’m going to go to one very shortly!
What a great idea! I’m getting some postcards tomorrow! Great post BT.
Great, thanks!
