September 18th, 2006 :: “Coffeeshop Comic Sketches”

My weekend was very productive, but not quite productive enough. So I’m working on a little three page comic that takes place in a coffeeshop. I’m submitting it to my school’s comics anthology which will then get printed and sold, apparently all across the nation. My plan was to have it finished today, but I only have the pages sketched out, none of them are inked yet, so here’s some sketches of two of the three characters involved in the comic. (The lady looks MUCH better in the actual comic than in this sketch, but it’s just the closest sketch to what she looks like in the final.)

SUPER-FANTASTICAL NEWS!
This coming January, I will be having my very first solo art show! It was just confirmed on Sunday. I have been wanting to do my own show for a long time. I’m calling it “Spoke Up!” and it is themed around the biking community of Portland, and even more specifically, those crazy souls (like myself) who bike year-round, rain or shine. Being that the show is not robot-oriented, I will not be showing any of it here. However, I will be showing my process and pieces as they finish over at http://radrobot.livejournal.com. If you’re on the LJ, now would be a great time to friend me. I have a lot of other good stuff coming up over the next few months. Including all of the pieces in the solo show, I plan on (and have the ability to) have at least one piece in at least one show every month until February 2007, at the moment. Hopefully there’ll be more to follow in the spring.
