Shoes and Ukes

I’m about to take off to Spokane for Saturday’s Spokane Comicon, but I thought I’d post once more before I go. This is a painting of a pair of my shoes that I did this last semester for my Beginning Painting class. This is the only painting I was happy with the entire semester of oil painting. It is also most likely the ONLY oil painting of mine that I will EVER be happy with as I found out that I am very allergic to oil paint and don’t plan on using it ever again.
For my one summer math class, we are learning the math behind music theory and sound. For our big project, we are building a cigar box ukelele. Here’s mine in progress. I took it home this weekend so I could throw some wood stain on it. I still need to cut the fretboard and attach it and the bridge, put some tuning pegs on it and it will be ready to be strung! I plan on sitting in my hammock and playing this baby all summer long.
